It’s panto time! Oh yes it is! Every pantomime needs a good villain, so how about this one – Dr Doom himself, aka Vincent von Doom, the arch nemesis of the Fantastic Four from Marvel Comics. I realised recently that his heavy metal mask with all its rivets and plates was an ideal candidate for a Meccano model, so after three days of experimenting, this life-sized bust was the result.

Possibly a first in Meccano, but that is just asking for someone to come up with an earlier version! All I can say is that I’ve not seen one like it before.
